Norcross, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Singleton Rd & Thompson Pkwy

Norcross, GA (December 9, 2021) – Around 8 p.m. on Friday, December 3, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection in Norcross.

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Singleton Road and Thompson Parkway. A 55-year-old man from Norcross was walking across the street when a vehicle traveling in the area suddenly struck him. He was then struck by a second vehicle. Both vehicles fled the scene without stopping.

Police confirmed that a driver of a red Toyota was traveling in the area when the driver saw the pedestrian lying in the roadway. The driver checked on the pedestrian but then got back in their vehicle and also fled.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured as a result of the accident. They were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police did not say if they found the parties responsible for the accident.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
