Gainesville, GA – Injuries Reported in House Fire on Holly Dr

Gainesville, GA (January 7, 2022) – One person was injured in a house fire in Gainesville around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, January 6.

According to the Gainesville Police Department, the fire broke out in a home on Holly Drive. Fire crews were immediately dispatched to the scene where they found that heavy smoke was coming out of the home. Fire crews quickly found that the fire started on the main floor and moved to the basement.

Fire crews quickly worked to put out the fire and tried to rescue anyone inside the home. One person was injured in the accident and taken to the hospital. They are receiving treatment for smoke inhalation injuries. A cat was also rescued from the home and was not injured.

The area was blocked off for some time as fire crews worked to bring the fire under control.
