Fayetteville, GA – Man Dies, Woman Hurt in Motorcycle Crash at Hwy 92 & Helen Sams Pkwy

Fayetteville, GA (October 27, 2021) – A Griffin man died after a serious vehicle accident that occurred on Tuesday evening, October 26.

Officers say the man lost his life in a traffic accident on Fayetteville’s south side after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett said officers responded to the collision, which occurred at the intersection of the State Highway 92 Connector and Helen Sams Parkway.

The motorcyclist, a 24-year-old male from Griffin, was transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital via ambulance. He later succumbed to his injuries, said Burdett.

Burdett added that a 69-year-old female from Fayetteville was also transported to Piedmont Fayetteville Hospital after sustaining minor injuries in the crash.

The Fayetteville Police Department Traffic Accident Investigation Unit is currently investigating the cause of the accident, though they haven’t released further details.

Police have asked anyone with additional information to call investigators.
