Dawsonville, GA – Two Injured in Car Accident at Lumpkin County Pkwy & GA-400

Dawsonville, GA (January 14, 2022) – Two men were injured in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Dawsonville on Wednesday afternoon, January 12.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Lumpkin County Parkway and GA-400. Police confirmed that a 62-year-old woman was attempting a right turn at the intersection when she was struck by a Ford Expedition driven by a 33-year-old man. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Both drivers involved in the collision were taken to Northeast Georgia Health System for treatment of their injuries. At this time, their conditions are not yet known.

The northbound lane of GA-400 was closed down for an hour due to the severity of the collision. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
