Conyers, GA – Rockdale Officials Report Injury Crash on I-20 at Hwy 138
Conyers, GA (December 25, 2021) – At 8:45 p.m. on the night of Saturday, December 25, a car accident with injuries occurred in Conyers.
According to Rockdale County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Highway 138. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in all lanes for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Old Covington Highway as an alternate route until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
