Athens, GA – One Injured in Car Crash at Lumpkin St & Broad St
Athens, GA (December 20, 2021) – At 7:26 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, December 18, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Athens.
According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Lumpkin Street and Broad Street. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the involved drivers was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Their condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
